When you think about getting rich, you’ll always include Bill Gates as one of your inspirations. Dropping out from Harvard and starting Microsoft, his story is one in a million. Let’s make that one in a billion. As one of the world’s biggest billionaires, this man can feed countries with just a snap of his fingers. He doesn’t need more money, right?

But according to a new Oxfam report, Bill Gates could be the world’s first trillionaire. While he may have earned ONLY $84.4 billion in net worth, researchers from Oxfam believe that getting his first trillion dollars is achievable within the next 25 years. The report, called “An economy for the 99%” suggests that billionaires can collectively grow their wealth by huge margins as seen over the last decade.

The world has around 793 billionaires and has a net worth of $2.4 trillion last 2009. With an annual growth of 11%, these billionaires collectively had net worths of $5 trillion by 2016. According to Oxfam, Bill Gates may become the first trillionaire by 2042! It reports, “If these returns continue, it is quite possible that we could see the world’s first trillionaire within 25 years.”

By then, he’ll be 86 years old.

The report adds, “The super-rich can achieve returns that are not available to the ordinary saver, helping the gap to grow between the wealthy and everyone else… The bigger the initial investment, the higher returns one can make as the initial costs of sophisticated advice and high-risk investments can be justified with the potential for super-lucrative returns.”

Well, he is no stranger to helping mankind. After leaving Microsoft, he and his wife Melinda have devoted their lives to finding cures for infectious disease and improving education worldwide. They have been so active with their advocacies with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. They have also partnered with Warren Buffett to encourage other billionaires to support public causes through the Giving Pledge. As for their kids, Gates won’t be leaving their billions to them. Millions, maybe, but not their billions. Rich people problems.
