Are you trying to work hard on this document you have to finish, but can’t seem to get any peace and quiet? Are there annoying co-workers gossiping unreasonably loudly just a few meters away from your desk? Is there a meeting close by and they forgot to shut the doors? Is the office just plain busy and there are about a hundred people discussing different matters all at the same time in the same room? Well, Hochu Rayu, a design company based in Ukraine, has come up with just the solution: Helmfon, a noise isolation helmet.

The helmet, made out of fiberglass for an outer shell, and a membrane cloth combined with a foamed polyethylene interior, makes sure that 100% of outside noise is isolated. It comes with Bluetooth connectivity, a microphone, and a camera, just in case you want to attend a virtual meeting without distracting anyone else. There’s also a slot to put your smartphone it, allowing you to quickly take calls. Also, since it’s a helmet, you can still see what you’re doing on your table or computer.

When asked about where the idea for this contraption came from, Hochu Rayu said it began when an IT company asked them to create a new phone booth. After some clever thinking and modifications, the company decided it would be best if they instead created a tool that would “allow you to be in two worlds just sitting on your chair in the office, in a meeting, or everywhere you feel like just wearing your helmet.”

Also, just in case you don’t like the boring, muted, dark blue color of the helmet, you can also opt for other customizable colors. You know, just to add some style and color to the boring black-and-white office.
