As soon as we enter the life of a working engineer, we do our best to avoid being tagged the TOXIC engineer. We don’t want to be that colleague that people think is a bad influence. We also hate it if people would avoid us at all cost because we will get hurt if they do so.

But how do you find out if you’re the “toxic” engineer? Here are the signs in finding out if you are one.

You only care about yourself and don’t consider the needs of your other colleagues, you will surely be tagged as the annoying colleague.

You tend to downplay the importance of the role of your other colleagues and only promote yourself as the better-performing engineer compared to the others.

You’re generally insensitive when working with your colleagues. You will not mingle with them and you just come out as cold to them.

You’re not straight to the point when it comes to sending a message to the other engineers. You just leave them guessing.

You don’t bend the rules for your colleagues. You don’t consider their suggestions and just stick to what you think is right.
