Best Scientific Calculators
We have interviewed 25 engineering professors from various fields, civil engineering, mechanical, electrical, chemical, electronic, mining and geodetic.
The respondents’ regions are from Massachusetts, Oxford, Tokyo, Dubai, Manila, Sydney, Cape Town, California, London, Shanghai and Singapore. They vary in locations and fields but they all have several things in common… engineering professors love quality.
We asked these engineering professors… “what is the best scientific calculator that you recently used and why.”
So here’s the why… 70% of the engineering professors that we surveyed value the following product attributes: Functionality, Robustness, Design and Price. The remaining 30% varies from battery to color of the calculator.
Functionality… The “function” is the first key attribute in selecting the best scientific calculators for engineers. Functions such as engineering notation, trigonometric, statistics, complex numbers solving, hyperbolic, sum and the multiplication of matrices, 3-solvers, scientific ad ons and vectors are included in this criteria.
Robustness… Reliability is the second criteria. You do not want to spend 2 hours in an exam with a broken calculator. The quality or condition of being strong, reliable and sturdy. Engineering students and professors always carry these calculators. Therefore it should have the ability to withstand or overcome adverse conditions or rigorous mobility.
Design… Sexy and slick design. Just right size and shape. Does not have to be flashy and colorful. When it comes to design, engineering professors like their calculator simple but elegant.
Price… Affordability and value for money should be considered by students, professors and parents. Majority (95%) of the professors does not want the most expensive
In this article, we have also included the product links of each calculator so it will be easier for you to compare prices and features.
